Organic Sencha Yabukita Makizono
First harvest Organic Sencha produced by Mr. Nishi in Makizono in Kagoshima. Produced from the Yabukita cultivar grown in a field covered for 10 days before harvest in order to develop a more mellow flavor than traditional Japanese Sencha (not covered from the sun before harvest). Its leaves have a very beautiful thin needle shape and a dark and glossy green color.
In the cup: A deep savory flavor with sweet and mellow notes when brewed at lower temperatures and a subtle astringency when brewed at a higher temperature.
This tea perfectly expresses the quintessence and balance of Japanese Sencha.
The Yabukita cultivar is used for 80% of all Japanese green teas and is especially suited to produce very balanced Sencha teas, revealing both a well-rounded umami and a refreshing vegetal flavor.
