Azmaya Iron Kettle

DKK 2,500.00

For centuries, Japan has been renowned for its Tetsubin – a cast iron kettle originally designed to be used in the Japanese Tea Ceremony. Handcrafted in Mizusawa, Iwate prefecture, famed for its Nambu-tetsu ironware tradition dating back to 1848.

Using a iron kettle for boiling water will not only keep your water warm for longer, it also releases iron to the water as a nice little dietary supplement. Also, the thin oxide coating on the inside will interact with the minerals in the water when boiling, leaving you with softer water that will make your tea taste even better.

The Mizusawa iron kettle is characterized by a wide, flat base ensuring stability, while its sharp spout provides an easy pour. With the right care, cast iron will age gracefully, promising a lifetime of utility and beauty.
