Indigo Kutani Petit Plate (Mill)

DKK 350.00

These small plates are made in a Kutani kiln, which has been renowned for producing porcelain since the Edo period. They are crafted from Hanasaka ceramic stone, a house stone produced in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture. The plate's shape is modeled after an ancient five-inch plate from Kutani.

The small pattern stamped in the center is based on antique rubber stamps purchased at a flea market in France. The design is first created in a plaster mold and then stamped onto the center of the plate before firing. The blue pigment, Gosu, is then poured into the recessed part, glazed, and fired.
